Lianhe Zaobao reported that recently, the Japanese government investigated and found that five automobile and motorcycle manufacturers, Toyota, Mazda, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki, had cheated in applying for safety test data of mass production in order to meet the government's certification standards in the past 10 years. Xinhua News Agency reported that recently, a research team from Guangxi Academy of Forestry in China discovered a new plant species in Quanzhou County, Guangxi——Cherry blossoms from all over the state have been published in the international journal of plant taxonomy, Phytotaxa. This new cherry blossom species has been discovered in the Tianhu National Wetland Park in Quanzhou, Guangxi, China, and is currently the only endemic species of the plum genus in Guangxi, China.


The cherry blossoms in Quanzhou belong to the Rosaceae family and the Plum genus, and their plants are mostly shrub like, with a few appearing as small trees. In 2023, the research team discovered this new species for the first time during the forest and grass germplasm resource census. At that time, only about 130 individuals were observed.
