01Microplastic particles found in coral

According to Xinhua News Agency, researchers from Kyushu University in Japan and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand recently discovered microplastics smaller than 300 microns in coral samples from the Gulf of Thailand using new microplastic detection technology.

It is reported that approximately70% cannot be found, and this "missing plastic problem" has been troubling researchers before. This discovery may explain why a large amount of marine plastic waste cannot be found. Researchers point out that in order to gain a more accurate understanding of the situation, more extensive research on a wider range of coral species is still needed globally, and the impact of microplastics on coral health also needs further investigation.
