The third annual meeting of provincial party secretaries was held in the four provinces of Laojie, Hejiang, Laizhou, and Dien Bien in the northwest border of Vietnam and Yunnan Province in China.

Deng Guoqing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hejiang Province, emphasized in his opening speech the close connection between the two countries and the long-standing traditional friendship between the two peoples.

He suggested that the five regions strive to strengthen leaders' mutual visits and receive exchanges from party branches. He also suggested that they maintain smooth trade at ports and border markets, and accelerate the establishment of new ports and the upgrading of existing ports. He said it is also important to restore cross-border import and export and tourism activities.

Each province shall report to each other on its own socio-economic development situation, agree to introduce effective measures, and support the consensus reached by senior leaders of both parties and countries. Both sides expressed that they will continue to maintain, promote, and play a good role in the annual meeting of provincial party secretaries and joint working groups

Meeting mechanism.  

The Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China stated that he believes that the implementation of the various contents reached at the meeting will have tangible results and contribute to strengthening friendly cooperation between the two provinces.

The participants signed the meeting minutes and the 2023-2025 pilot action plan for sustainable poverty reduction cooperation.

They agreed that the fourth conference will be held in Yunnan in the first quarter of next year.

According to the Foreign Investment Bureau of the Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam attracted nearly $5.45 billion in foreign investment in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year decrease of 39%. However, the International Automobile Federation stated that foreign investors' contributions and share purchases increased by 4% year-on-year to $798 million.  

In the first quarter, Singapore ranked first among foreign investors, investing $1.69 billion in Vietnam, equivalent to 31% of the country's total foreign investment. The second is Chinese Mainland (552 million US dollars).

According to the International Automobile Federation, new foreign investment projects still flow to areas with many advantages in attracting foreign investment, such as good infrastructure, stable human resources, efforts to reform administrative procedures, and the vitality of investment promotion. They include Beijiang, Tongnai, Beining, Ho Chi Minh City, and Haiphong.

A 38 year old Thai woman named Nami, who works as a Chinese translator, went to the Dingdeng Police Station in Bangkok, Thailand to report the case. She claimed that on March 10th, she and her Chinese employer were kidnapped by 5-6 Thai men who claimed to be police officers, and the Chinese employer was extorted 2.04 million Thai baht.

Nano explained to the police that the victim was a 62 year old Chinese male businessman who was contacted for visa renewal upon expiration. The two agreed to meet at the merchant's home and then go to the immigration office to complete the renewal procedures together. However, due to issues with the documents, they were unable to proceed smoothly on the same day. On the way back and forth, a Chinese male friend of the businessman drove the victim.

When they returned to the victim's house, they were stopped by five unfamiliar men disguised as police officers who were driving three cars, kidnapping her and the victim into the car and leaving the scene. The victim's Chinese friends followed them away.

Through preliminary investigation, the police found that the victim held an ID card of a 55 year old person from the Thai province of North Lam. Currently, the police are not sure if the ID card is alive, and further investigation will be conducted.

Wang Jiajun's Deputy Commander in Chief and Army Commander Hong Mane recently posted a video on Facebook requesting the police to directly arrest those who have committed wrongdoing on his behalf.

Hong Ma Nei said that a few days ago, it was reported that a person holding a group photo with him claimed to be his personal assistant, and claimed to be his special representative sent to West Port, demanding to occupy someone else's land.

Hong Mane requested the police to directly arrest someone in such a situation. No matter who it is, or my assistant, as long as it violates the law or commits a crime, you can directly arrest it without asking me

Hongmane stated that of course, if the authorities could tell him similar things, he would sue the person who falsely used his name to damage his reputation to the court and punish him severely.
