01South Korean Acting President Han Dae soo is impeached

According to Yonhap News Agency, the impeachment case against South Korean Acting President Han Dae soo has recently been passed, marking the first time in South Korean constitutional history that an acting president has been impeached. Before the impeachment vote, there was a fierce conflict in Congress. The ruling National Power Party accuses the opposition party, the Common Democratic Party, of "paralyzing the country's politics" through the impeachment case, while the Common Democratic Party claims that Han Jae soo violated constitutional procedures by refusing to appoint three constitutional judges to fill the vacancies in the Constitutional Court. This issue is crucial for the process of dismissing President Yoon Suk yeol. According to the South Korean Constitution, the Constitutional Court will rule within 180 days on whether this impeachment case is valid.
