After the downfall of the Dacheng Dynasty,Zheng Xin, who has Chinese ancestry, continues to lead the Thai people in resisting the invasion of MyanmarFinally, they regained their lost territory, unified Thailand, and relocated their capital nearly a hundred kilometers south to Tunburi,Thus began the Tunburi Dynasty.

From then on, Dachengfu was completely abandoned and became a site. Over hundreds of years, the Dacheng site has experienced drought and floods, leaving only dilapidated pagodas, broken columns, and floating charts, showcasing the grandeur and glory of the past.

In the ruins of the Great City,Buddhist temples and statues are world-renowned, with grand and beautiful architectural styles.amongThe oldest and most central royal temple,Built inMahatai Temple in 1374.TheThe temple was built from the time of King Indi and was completed during the reign of King Litai. It belongs to the royal family temple and is located in the central plains of the temple209 pagodas and 10 monasteries, andNowadayspartallAll that's left isFoundation.

The main tower of Mahatai Temple is a typical Sukhothai style pagoda with a lotus shaped spire. It was originally a Khmer style pagoda, but due to King Li Tai's unwillingness to be influenced by Khmer, it was wrapped and rebuilt.

This example of not damaging previous works is often seen in Thailand. Because the Tai people believed that destroying temples or Buddha statues was disrespectful to the gods, they adopted the method of wrapping or building buildings, and then building new ones outside, resulting in the building's increasing size.

In front of the Buddha Hall in Mahatai Temple, the most attractive thing isTree Buddha. I saw an abandoned Buddha head surrounded by layers of Bodhi tree roots, tangled with branches and vines, forming a wonderful scene of "tree embracing Buddha".

Legend has it that when the Burmese army invaded, the Buddhist temple was completely destroyed, and a Buddha's head rolled down in the flames. By chance, it arrived at the edge of the Bodhi tree. Time flies, and the roots of the tree continue to grow, like outstretched arms, gently embracing the fallen Buddha's head, revealing the Buddha's face in the middle of the tree without bias.

The Buddha statue is closed and serene, calm and composed. Amidst the vicissitudes of the sea, it has merged with the tree. The Buddha's head is guarded by numerous tree roots, which are also twisted by the Buddha's head, interdependent and intertwined, forming a fusion of faith and nature.

Across the street from Mahatai Monastery, there is also Rajabrana Monastery. This temple records a story of brothers fighting against each other:In 1424, King Tarachatilo passed away, and the third princeKing SanpiyeTheir two brothers dueled for the throne and both died.King SanpiyeAfter succeeding to the throne, the temple was built and the ashes of two brothers and their father were buried under the pagoda as a memorial.

Although the historical sites are silent, they witness the rise and fall of the Great City Prefecture and still stand quietly today, demonstrating the patience and tolerance advocated by Buddhism. This fragmentary beauty is moving.

Time is merciless and gentle, and all the past is buried in the sand of time. What is left to future generations is a unique cultural heritage, and it is also the faith and sustenance of the Thai national spirit. And the peace and tranquility that have been flowing in the blood of the Thai people seem to be able to receive a response here.
