According to Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao, the Tuas North Basin between Singapore's Tuas King Industrial Park and Jurong Industrial ParkThe reclamation project will commence in 2025. Currently, there are approximately 2200 hectares of industrial land in Dashi and Dashi South, with a reclamation area of approximatelyequal to240 football fields, expected to be completed by 2029.

Jurong Group, which is responsible for this project, stated that the reclamation is to meet future industrial land needs and promote the renewal of older areas in Jurong and Dashi industrial areas. In addition, the land created by reclamation will also be used for the construction of infrastructure and roads to connect Dashan and Dashan Port.

As for the impact of land reclamation on the environment, Jurong Group will collaborate with the National Environmental Agency to carry out a pilot program using incineration bottom ash as the reclamation material. It is reported that the two institutions have selected a location under a drainage channel in the Dashi North Basin to test the use of waste incineration bottom ash in a controllable manner, with a dosage of approximately25000 cubic meters.

Before 1965, due to economic demand and engineering and technical limitations, Singapore's land reclamation constructionlandMainly concentratedstayCoastal mudflat arealandRelatively slow speed. In August 1965, Singapore gained independence. Faced with the dilemma of having more people and less land, it was unable to develop an introverted economy and had to implement an outward oriented economic strategy and actively participate in globalization.

Therefore, Singapore needs to vigorously promote large-scale industrial construction within its limited territory.howeverThe development of large-scale industries requires a huge demand for land. Located in the Jurong area of southwestern Singapore, the land is desolate and uninhabited. More importantly, there are many hills here that can be moved and reclaimed, providing ample potential for future development.

In 1991, the Singapore government decided to merge the seven small islands south of Jurong into one large island - Jurong Island - by land reclamation. The original area of 10 square kilometers was reduced to 32 square kilometers. 1975adoptReclamation of land and subsequent expansion have resulted in the construction of aZhangyi Airport, covering an area of 13.75 square kilometers. This stage was a period of rapid reclamation in Singapore.

In the first decade of the 21st century, Singapore's land reclamation rate increased by 1184.6% compared to the previous decade, except forShima Takashima Sea has also opened projects such as the Tuas New Port, Jurong Industrial Zone, Jurong Island Emerging Industrial Zone, Changi Airport Expansion, and the Da Te Guang Island Project.

After 2010, Singapore launched the "Industry 21" plan, attempting to build Singapore into a global center of knowledge driven industries and vigorously developing emerging industries. The proportion of land reclamation plans used for industry gradually decreased, and reclamation preparation sites were established for long-term land development.

Reclamation provided Singapore with a large amount of land and provided impetus for its economic development, but the consequences were also serious. Due to large-scale land reclamation, Singapore has faced a series of ecological problems, such as the basic extinction of mangrove forests and the catastrophic destruction of coral reefs in Singapore's waters. Other fish species have also gradually decreased due to water pollution and turbidity.
