Malaysia Aviation Authority announces new transfer fees starting from June

Recently, MalaysiaThe Aviation Commission announces adjustmentsThe passenger service fee for the first regulatory period from June 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026, commonly known as airport tax, and a new transfer ticket fee has been introduced.

The Aviation Administration Commission issued a notice stating that the newly adjusted cabin crew fees for the first regulatory period will be betweenFrom RM7 to RM73, passengers taking off or transferring through Malaysia are required to pay this fee, as well as security fees for providing security services at the airport.

Except for Shinai International Airport, the committee maintains domestic flight crew fees at all airports at11 ringgit. As for international travel, the fare for ASEAN and non ASEAN regions is RM73 for international flights at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, and RM50 for Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 and other airports, respectively.

The Air Transport Commission has also introduced transfer flight attendants fees, which are collected through domestic flights connecting to all airports7 ringgit, 42 ringgit for international flights connecting through the first terminal of Long Airport, and 29 ringgit for international flights connecting through the second terminal of Long Airport and other airports.

The Aviation Authority pointed out that it allows other airports not operated by the subsidiary of Malaysia International Airport, namely Snay International Airport, Getty Airport, and Danjung Manis Airport, to recommend the fee standards for the first regulatory period to the Aviation Authority. It points out that Getty Airport and Danjung Manis Airport have chosen to adopt the commission's fee standards, while Shinai International Airport has chosen to implement different fee structures, which means that domestic and international flights departing or connecting from the airport will be subject to taxation10 to 50 ringgit.

The aviation committee said that according toAccording to Article 46 of the Malaysian Aviation Authority Act 2015, this adjustment falls under the responsibility of the Authority to economically regulate aviation service fees in Malaysia, which includes the power to set aviation service fees, such as crew fees, aircraft takeoff and landing fees, and parking fees.
