It is understood that Vietnam isBetween February 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019, a total of 10.3 million metric tons of carbon emissions were successfully reduced, thanks to the joint efforts of the Vietnamese government and various sectors of society. Vietnam's emission reduction plan not only effectively protects forest resources and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also brings tangible benefits to local forest owners and communities.

The Chief Representative of the World Bank in Vietnam, Tek, stated that this payment is not only a recognition of Vietnam's carbon reduction achievements, but also a recognition of Vietnam's significant step towards joining the global carbon credit market. FCPF, as an important mechanism to support developing countries in reducing deforestation and forest degradation, has played a positive role globally since its launch in 2008. As the first country in the Asia Pacific region to receive FCPF payments due to carbon reduction achievements, Vietnam's experience will provide useful reference for other developing countries.
