Release time:2024-04-06 Source: Qingqiao Number of views:

The Malaysian government is actively building a hydrogen economy ecosystem and is committed to promoting hydrogen powered vehicles to the market in the coming decades, in strong competition with existing cars and electric vehicles. This strategic decision marks Malaysia's ambition in the field of clean energy and also foreshadows its active role in the global energy transition.

Recently, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar personally experienced the charm of hydrogen powered cars in Putrajaya. He rode a hydrogen powered car with Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Zheng Likang from the Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation to the Prime Minister's Office. Anwar expressed after experiencing that hydrogen powered cars are quieter than traditional cars and have enormous development potential. He firmly believes that through comprehensive research and practice, the hydrogen ecosystem will flourish in Malaysia, and hydrogen technology will also emerge in the market, providing consumers with more choices.

Zheng Likang elaborated on Malaysia's plans in the field of hydrogen energy at a press conference after the event. He stated that Malaysia will further master hydrogen technology and improve the supply and production capacity of green or blue hydrogen. He expects to arriveBy 2030, green hydrogen exports will bring Malaysia energy trade revenue of up to RM12 billion, significantly enhancing the country's economic strength and international competitiveness.

In order to achieve this goal, the Malaysian government has previously launched the "Hydrogen Economy and Technology Blueprint", aiming to turn Malaysia into a green hydrogen exporting country. Currently, the Sarawak region is actively constructing two factories, which are expected to take place inStarting from 2026, Malaysia will export green hydrogen to Japan and South Korea, marking a continuous acceleration of its internationalization in the hydrogen energy field.

In addition, Zheng Likang also emphasized that the use of hydrogen energy will help Malaysia achieveThe goal of zero carbon emissions by 2050. He revealed that hydrogen vehicle technology is already quite mature, and Malaysia plans to launch its first mobile hydrogen refueling device in Putrajaya by the end of this year to meet the growing demand for hydrogen energy. At the same time, the Malaysian government is actively seeking cooperation with private institutions such as Toyota to jointly promote the construction of a hydrogen economy ecosystem.

It is reported that hydrogen powered vehicles have many advantages. Its hydrogenation time only takes three to five minutes, and after each hydrogenation, it can travel up toFrom 700 kilometers to 1000 kilometers, it greatly exceeds the range of traditional electric vehicles. In addition, hydrogen batteries are lighter than batteries used in electric vehicles, which helps improve vehicle energy efficiency and performance. Although the current price of hydrogen is slightly higher than gasoline, Zheng Likang stated that with the advancement of technology and the expansion of market size, the price of hydrogen will be more competitive by 2050.

Malaysia's active layout and bold innovation in the field of hydrogen energy have not only injected new impetus into the country's energy transformation and economic development, but also contributed to the optimization of the global energy structure and environmental protection.
