The Director of the Budget Bureau, Chalermphol Pensoot, stated on August 20th that these funds have been carefully planned and will be quickly implemented to alleviate the current economic downturn.

Specifically, the Additional Budget Expenditure Bill has been approved by the parliament and is about to be promulgated and implemented. The bill will allocate 122 billion Thai baht, mainly to promote the development of digital wallet programs. This plan was originally intended to promote financial inclusion through digital means, but now there are rumors that the government may consider distributing some of the funds directly to the public in cash to stimulate consumption more directly. Ban Su stated that a shift in payment methods is possible, but it will not change the original intention of stimulating the economy.

In addition to the Additional Budget Expenditure Act, the government also plans to allocate 152 billion baht from the 2025 fiscal year budget draft for economic stimulus measures.
