Thai Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nikang De stated in public that relevant departments in Thailand are actively exploring the best mode of implementing this system, and emphasized that further deliberation and coordination are needed before full implementation.

Although the specific process for applying for an electronic travel permit has not yet been announced, most analysts believe that this process will be simple, fast, and free for foreign tourists. In order to demonstrate flexibility, the Thai government is considering including some neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia, as well as travelers holding diplomatic passports, official passports, United Nations passes, and border passes, in the exemption list without the need to apply for electronic travel permits. This measure undoubtedly provides convenience for frequent residents of neighboring countries and international travelers with specific identities.
