Recently, VietnamThe government stated thatA railway closely connected to Yunnan Province in China is about to be built, which will not only further strengthen the transportation links between China and Vietnam, but also inject new vitality into the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
It is reported that the total investment of this railway is expected to reach 179 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 38 billion yuan), with a total length of 427 kilometers. It starts from the border area between Yunnan Province in China and Lao Cai Province in northern Vietnam, passes through the Vietnamese capital Hanoi and the important port city of Haiphong, and finally extends to the scenic city of Ha Long. This project is not only highly valued by the Vietnamese government, but also highly expected by the Chinese and Vietnamese people.
The Vietnam Railway Administration has submitted this railway plan to the Ministry of Transport for approval, and it is expected to officially start construction in 2030. At that time, this railway will become an important transportation link connecting China and Vietnam, which will not only greatly shorten the travel time between the two places, but also improve transportation efficiency and meet the growing demand for passenger and freight transportation. According to the Vietnam Railway Bureau, the transportation demand for this railway line is expected to reach 8.3 million passengers and 17.5 million tons of goods annually by 2050, and its importance is self-evident.
There are already highways and two railway lines connecting China and Vietnam, but Vietnam's railway facilities are relatively old and difficult to meet current and future development needs. Therefore, the construction of this new railway is not only a supplement and improvement to the existing transportation network, but also an important upgrade to the transportation infrastructure of both countries.
In fact, cooperation between China and Vietnam in railway construction has long existed. During his visit to Beijing in August this year, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the People's Republic of China, Su Lin. The two countries signed 14 cooperation documents, including standardized railway line planning. In addition to the Yunnan Kunming to Haiphong railway project mentioned above, the two countries also plan to upgrade another railway from Guangxi to Hanoi, and may build a railway connecting Shenzhen and Haiphong. The implementation of these projects will undoubtedly further enhance the transportation convenience and accessibility between China and Vietnam.
In addition, the Vietnamese parliament is expected to approve a $67 billion (approximately 440 billion yuan) plan at its next meeting to build a high-speed railway from Hanoi to the commercial center of Ho Chi Minh City. This high-speed railway has a total length of approximately 1541 kilometers and will become one of the largest infrastructure projects in Vietnam's history. Its completion will make Vietnam's transportation system more modern and efficient, further promoting the development of Vietnam's economy and social progress.
Vietnam's plan to build a new railway project connecting Yunnan Province and Ha Long City in China is an important step in the cooperation between China and Vietnam in the field of transportation infrastructure. The implementation of this project will not only strengthen the transportation and economic exchanges between the two countries, but also inject new impetus and vitality into their future development.
