In the past year, these Japanese local government delegations have covered multiple fields such as catering and manufacturing, especially local enterprises that do not rely on foreign markets. For example, during an important meeting in December, the governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Muraoka Sizheng, expressed a strong desire to export pufferfish to Vietnam to Prime Minister Pham Minh seong, and received a positive response from Prime Minister Pham Minh seong. This statement not only reflects the importance that Yamaguchi Prefecture attaches to the Vietnamese market, but also indicates that there will be deeper cooperation between the two sides in the field of agricultural trade.

Gunma Prefectural Governor Yamamoto Kazuta led a large delegation of 25 company executives to visit Vietnam in October of the same year. There are many well-known enterprises in the delegation, such as Koshidaka Holdings, the operator of the "Zhaocai Cat" chain karaoke. Koshidaka's executive, Rishi Takahashi, stated during the visit that Vietnam has become one of the most promising potential markets for the company due to its enormous market potential and development prospects.

In addition, governors from Fukushima, Aichi, Shimane, and Fukuoka prefectures also visited Vietnam in 2024, seeking exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam in various aspects such as economy, trade, and culture. The governor of Mie County, upon seeing the victory, has planned to visit Vietnam in 2025 to further promote the deepening of bilateral relations.

Vietnam is not only a popular destination for Japanese local governments seeking business opportunities, but also an important source for Japanese companies to attract overseas talent. Due to the declining birth rate in Japan, the population structure continues to shrink, and the problem of labor shortage is becoming increasingly severe. In order to fill this gap, many Japanese companies have begun to look overseas, especially Vietnam. bytwo thousand and twenty-fourIn June of that year, over 600000 Vietnamese people were already living in Japan, many of whom had become an indispensable part of Japanese businesses due to their outstanding skills and diligent work attitude.

Itoki Corporation, an office furniture manufacturer in Shiga Prefecture, is a typical representative of this. In order to attract outstanding talents from Vietnam, the company's president, Ju Hongsi, personally went to Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam to attend a job fair and had face-to-face exchanges with young job seekers. Ju Hongsi stated that although recruiting graduates from the University of Tokyo is a major challenge for Ito Kei, the most outstanding graduates from Vietnam are very willing to join their company and contribute their strength to the company's development.

At the same time, the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan, Yuji Kuroiwa, has visited Vietnam multiple times and held promotional activities in various cities to introduce the investment environment and employment opportunities in Kanagawa Prefecture. During his meeting with Vietnamese students, he encouraged them to study and work in Japan, contributing to the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

With the increasing demand for foreign labor in Japan, more and more foreign job seekers see Japan as an ideal work destination. In order to attract and retain these outstanding talents, the Japanese government is also constantly striving to improve immigration policies and technical internship programs. However, despite some progress, the threshold for entering Japan is still high, and there are also some issues with the relevant infrastructure that urgently need to be addressed.
