Suketai Ancient City, as the birthplace of Thai civilization, has now been transformed into a national historical park. The ancient city has a grand scale, with three existing walls, approximately2.6 kilometers, approximately 2 kilometers wide, with a city gate on each side. Inside and outside the ancient city, there were originally 193 Buddhist monuments, including a palace, 35 temples, and a large number of ancient pagodas, Buddha statues, and steles. After restoration, some of them were able to regain their luster. Looking up, it looks like a grand and majestic Buddhist city.

The most magnificent and magnificent among them is Mahatai Temple.

Mahatai Temple is located in the core area of Sukhothai, surrounded by three moats. According to research, the temple was the administrative center of the Sukhothai dynasty during its heyday, and all members of the royal family came here to pray and worship. As the largest Buddhist temple in Sukhothai, Mahatai Temple has no walls and is located on the side with a length ofWithin a 200 meter square area, there are a total of 198 pagodas of varying sizes. A massive 9-meter-high Buddha statue sits among them, enduring the vicissitudes of time. Although only ruins remain, it still captivates the soul. The architectural base of Mahatai Temple is an endless lotus bud shaped pagoda, surrounded by four conical pagodas in the Lana style. Relief and Buddha statues can be seen everywhere in the temple, whether sitting or standing, the expression is vivid, the appearance is kind, and the shape is lifelike.

Leaving the central area and heading north, there is also an important temple——Xichun Temple.

Xichun Temple is the most mysterious among Suketai temples, built in the ADIn the 13th century, the most important building was the Grand Hall Ruins Buddha Hall. There was a narrow slit in the front of the hall, through which a huge seated Buddha with a demon subduing seal could be seen. This was also the only open-eyed Buddha in Sukhothai, Akana Buddha. The Buddha statue is about 15 meters tall and 11 meters wide on both knees. It sits in a folded posture, with flame shaped buns, granular hair snails, and drooping eyes, showing compassion for all living beings.

Akana Buddha, also known asLanguage Buddha. According to legend, in the second half of the 16th century, during the reign of King Nalixuan of the Sukhothai dynasty, Thailand often engaged in wars with Cambodia. In order to boost military morale, the king quietly ordered soldiers to enter the narrow passage and ascend to the top of the Buddhist shrine to give a speech. The niche of the Buddha was narrow, and the speech sounded even louder and louder. As no one could see anyone speaking, the soldiers thought it was the Buddha who was giving a speech. The direction of the Buddha's heart, the wisdom of Buddhism, seems to have been integrated into the history of this land in the dark, only waiting for those who are destined to comprehend.

When the sunset burns on the distant horizon, the sacred ancient architectural complex of Suketai, along with the surrounding trees, forms a beautiful silhouette under the orange red sky.

A pool of lotus flowers, a green atmosphere, just like an elegant Zen rhyme painting scroll. At this moment, there was silence all around, and the scene before us seemed to have been frozen by time, like the last radiance of the sun that reignited life in this temple. Although fleeting, it shook the heart.
