The Patalong River in southern Thailand and the Payao River in northern Thailand are renowned for their high-quality rice varieties. Through unremitting efforts and innovation, farmers in these agricultural communities have successfully cultivated a variety of rice with unique flavors, winning the favor of domestic and foreign consumers. These rice products not only have excellent taste, but also have obtained geographical indication (GI) certification due to their unique geographical environment and planting methods, becoming the best spokesperson for the quality and characteristics of Thai rice.

According to Jalanjit, an agricultural expert from the Thai Rice Authority, cultivating local rice varieties is an important part of Thailand's long-term development strategy for the rice industry. By promoting these high-quality rice with GI labels to the global market, not only can the brand image of Thai rice be enhanced, but it can also bring more substantial and sustainable income to local farmers, thereby improving their quality of life.

To achieve this goal, the Thai Rice Authority has taken a series of measures.
