Vice Minister Vivian stated that the Indonesian government has an open attitude towards the adoption of any nuclear power technology, whether it is small modular reactors or traditional nuclear technology, which is within its consideration range. This measure is seen as an important step for Indonesia to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and promote the diversification of its energy structure. However, she also candidly pointed out that it is still too early for Indonesia to order nuclear power generation technology, and it needs to be approved by the president and further discussed with international partners.

It is worth noting that although nuclear power generation has been widely used globally, the construction of nuclear power plants has always been a controversial issue in a country like Indonesia, located in the Pacific Ring of Fire and Earthquake. The frequent occurrence of earthquakes requires Indonesia to be particularly cautious in the introduction and application of nuclear power technology to ensure safety.

Nevertheless, the Indonesian government's determination to promote energy transition has not wavered. According to the Indonesian government's plan, in the futureWithin 15 years, Indonesia will vigorously introduce foreign investment and increase its renewable energy generation capacity by over 75 gigawatts. This plan aims to reduce Indonesia's dependence on traditional energy sources such as coal and promote the optimization and upgrading of its energy structure.

Meanwhile, Indonesia is alsoThe Fair Energy Transition Partnership Agreement (JETP) has received $20 billion (approximately SGD 26.8 billion) in funding commitment from international partners to promote energy transition. Currently, 33 decarbonization projects have received funding support, with a total value of 217.8 million US dollars. In addition, six projects with a total value of 78.4 million US dollars are still in the negotiation stage.

While promoting energy transition, the Indonesian government has also announced that it will enforce a higher ratio of palm oil fuel from next year onwardsB40 biodiesel. Compared to the currently used B35 biodiesel, the palm oil fuel ratio in B40 has been increased to 40%. This measure aims to further reduce Indonesia's carbon dioxide emissions and make a substantial contribution to the global response to climate change. According to the Minister of Economic Affairs, Elronga, switching to B40 biodiesel is expected to reduce Indonesia's carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 40 million metric tons.
