On the afternoon of March 28th, Lu Zhicheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qingqiao International Security Group, was invited by the Confucius Institute to inspect the Confucius Institute at Sufanufeng University in Laos. Accompanied by Song Minying, the dean of the Confucius Institute at Sufanufeng University, Chairman Lu Zhicheng and his delegation visited the teaching environment of the institute and inspected its enrollment, operation, and management.

Confucius Institutes are an important platform for international Chinese education. On November 21, 2004, the world's first Confucius Institute was established in the capital of Seoul, South Korea. As of the end of 2021, 159 countries around the world have established over 1500 Confucius Institutes and classrooms through cooperation with China, more than 180 countries have launched Chinese language education projects, and 76 countries have included Chinese language in their national education systems.

As of now, there are two Confucius Institutes in Laos, namely the Confucius Institute at the National University of Laos and the Confucius Institute at the University of Sufanufeng in Laos. In July 2021, the undergraduate program of Chinese teacher education at the Confucius Institute of the National University of Laos was approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos. The institute became the first Confucius Institute in the world to independently offer the undergraduate program of Chinese teacher education, independently recruit and cultivate students, and issue undergraduate degree certificates. To date, the cumulative enrollment has exceeded 23000 people.

The Confucius Institute at Sufanufeng University is the second Confucius Institute in Laos and the first Confucius Institute in northern Laos. It is jointly organized by Kunming University of Technology in China and Sufanufeng University in Laos. It was unveiled and launched in July 2018 and officially opened in January 2019.

The Confucius Institute of Sufanufeng University is located in Luang Prabang, the world cultural heritage site, with four teaching points and a China Research Center (Confucius Institute Branch). The Confucius Institute of Sufanufeng University implements a dual approach of Chinese language teaching on campus and off campus. On campus, in collaboration with the School of Economics and Tourism Management of Sufanufeng University, Chinese language courses will be set as compulsory courses for third year students majoring in tourism and hotel management; Collaborating with the Language School of Sufanufeng University to offer Chinese elective courses; Simultaneously offering Chinese interest classes to all teachers, students, and the general public; Off campus, we have collaborated with departments such as the Luang Prabang Arsenal, Luang Prabang Airport, and the Luang Prabang Cultural Department of the Lao Ministry of National Defense to launch a series of school enterprise Chinese language training projects. In addition, HSK pre exam tutoring classes have been established to meet the needs of various students for HSK exams.

During the inspection, Song Minying, the dean of the Confucius Institute at Sufanufeng University, also introduced the development ideas and concepts of the Confucius Institute at Sufanufeng University in Laos to Chairman Lu Zhicheng. Chairman Lu Zhicheng stated that this inspection has yielded fruitful results and provided a good learning experience for the upcoming Southeast Asian International University of Qingqiao Group. Southeast Asia International University will make positive efforts for the integration and development of Chinese culture and Southeast Asian culture.
